NOT MUSH-ROOM FOR DOUBT! SHIITAKE MUSHROOM POWDER

NOT MUSH-ROOM FOR DOUBT! SHIITAKE MUSHROOM POWDER

Our expertly sourced Shiitake Mushroom Powder is created from mushrooms grown naturally and then harvested and dried in the sunshine, ensuring their gills (the bits underneath the mushroom) absorb the most sunlight and can create the most Vitamin D to benefit your dog.

Alongside their wonderful offering of vitamin D, Shiitake mushrooms also provide much needed Copper, Selenium, Manganese, Zinc and B vitamins, including lots of great B5 which helps regulate energy levels.

Mushrooms are gaining traction as health supplements for their benefits, some even claiming the name Medicinal Mushrooms for dogs.  We chose Shiitake mushrooms for our Superfood as they are carrying one of the highest levels of research of any of the medicinal mushrooms.

Papers suggesting links with, and benefits for, many health conditions are readily available, with many studies now focusing on dogs too*.

In published papers, compounds in Shiitake have been shown to:

·         Boost immune system function

·         Improve digestive system

·         Balance the gut microbiome

·         Reduce liver fat

·         Enhance metabolism

·         Support heart health

·         Offer anti-cancer properties

·         Strengthen bone density

·         Help tackle obesity

Shiitake offers a useful type of fibre called Beta-glucans, responsible for much of the mushroom’s benefits to your dog.   They are also a fantastic Prebiotic. Prebiotic compounds promote the growth of good bacteria in the digestive tract as well as the volume of postbiotics such as Butyric acid which act in the reduction of inflammation.

We are sure you will agree this super functional wholefood is a terrific benefit to your dog, included alongside our fresh, grass-fed, raw meats, Basil’s Superfood range will ensure your dog thrives!

Will my dog like the taste of them?

Rest assured the savoury; meaty flavour of the Shiitake mushroom we add to our Superfood range enhances the taste of the meal for your dog. Making it delicious and functional too.
