Paws Up for National Dog Friendly Day! 🐾

Paws Up for National Dog Friendly Day! 🐾

If your outings often involve checking if your favourite spot has a water bowl at the door and a welcoming attitude towards furry friends, congratulations, you’re likely doing life right. AtĀ Basil’s, we’re all for days out with dogs, and National Dog Friendly Day is the perfect excuse to celebrate just that.

It’s a brilliant reminder of how much better life is when our four-legged companions are part of it, not just at home, but out and about too.

Why National Dog Friendly Day Matters

Let’s be honest – dogs make the world infinitely better. They greet us with wagging tails, offer unwavering companionship, and bring so much joy to our lives. National Dog Friendly Day is about more than grabbing a coffee with your dog (though we 100% support that!). It’s a chance to appreciate and support the growing number of businesses that understand the joy of making pets feel welcome.

Whether you’ve got a bouncing Boxer eager to explore a new patio, a sleepy Spaniel content by your feet at a cafe, or any other well-behaved dog, this day is for all of us who believe dogs deserve to be part of more of life’s little adventures.

From Butcher’s Block to Dog Bowl…and Beyond!

Back in 2011, a real dog named Basil inspired us to do things differently. Fit as a butcher’s dog (and just as food-focused), Basil thrived on raw food—his shiny coat, wagging tail, and endless energy said it all: healthy food makes happy dogs.

We’ve been proudly feeding dogs the proper stuff ever since. But beyond good nutrition, we believe dogs deserve rich, full lives—and that includes joining us on more of our daily outings, just like Basil would have loved.

Let’s Make It a Dog-Friendly Day Out!

In honour of National Dog Friendly Day, why not:

  • 🐾 Visit a local cafĆ©, pub, or restaurant that welcomes dogs—many have outdoor seating, and some even offer dog treats on the menu!

  • 🐾 Look out for local events or pet-friendly meetups happening in your area.

  • 🐾 Share your pet-friendly adventures on social media—a quick photo of your pup enjoying a day out might inspire others to do the same.

  • 🐾 Support businesses that go the extra mile to welcome dogs and other pets.

Here’s to more walk-ins with wagging tails. 🐶
