THERE'S NOTHING SEEDY ABOUT THIS SUPERFOOD! - Hemp Seed Oil 🌱

What Is Hemp Seed Oil for Dogs?

Hemp seed oil is derived from the seeds of the non-psychoactive plant known as industrial hemp.  The seeds are cold-pressed to obtain the clear green oil that’s used in cooking or as a nutritional supplement and can be easily added to food for dogs.

It has a mild, nutty flavour which is pleasant to taste, and it has no cannabinol (CBD) oil and absolutely no psychoactive properties. Basically, hemp oil will not get your dog high - but what they will get is a host of health benefits.

Hemp seed oil is rich with vitamins and trace minerals, valued for its high content of omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids, which collectively have anti-inflammatory and moisturising properties.

What nutrients are in Hemp Seed Oil?

Hemp seed oil has a dense nutritional profile which includes:

  • Antioxidants such as vitamin E
  • Omega-3, omega-6, and omega-9 fatty acids with the ideal omega-6 to omega-3 ratio of 3:1
  • Carotene
  • Essential minerals like calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc, and iron

What Are the Benefits of Hemp Seed Oil for Dogs?

The nutrients in hemp seed oil can help dogs in several ways, such as:

  • Its anti-inflammatory properties mean it can help dogs with painful conditions such as arthritis, or offer natural pain relief for joint stiffness caused by normal daily activity. The perfect balance of fatty acids helps to reduce inflammation naturally and strengthen your dog’s immune system
  • Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids can help contribute to a soft, glossy coat and healthy skin.
  • The good amount of fibre in the hemp seeds means that hemp seed oil can aid digestion by contributing to gut health and smooth bowel movements.

Is Hemp Seed Oil Safe For Dogs?

Absolutely 💯Yes it is!   Hemp seed oil is very safe for both humans and dogs.
